Emma Watson the new face of Burberry

Following the retirement of Joy Frommer, Andrew is promoted as the new President of Burberry Europe. Maag will look after the retail and wholesale operations of the British luxury label in Europe. Previously Maag was the Senior Vice-President of Menswear where he helped to develop the business from licensing to wholly-owned and gained a revenue growth of 40%. Before that he held senior positions at Limited Brands, Donna Karan, banana republic, and YSL rive gauche. Europe is the largest market of Burberry.

Burberry to grow accessories: Burberry is targeting growth in non-clothing ranges like shoes and purses in the economic recovery, the luxury goods group said Tuesday, as it posted a smaller-than-forecast fall in first-half profit. Profit for the six months to the end of September had fell 24 per cent to GBP56.8m from GBP74.8m a year ago. The 153-year-old group, sketching out its plans for the next three years, said it wants to boost its presence in China and the Americas and attract younger shoppers via social media such as its recently launched web site. "While the last year or so has presented us as management teams with the most challenging conditions we've ever had to work through, we have been equally focused on how best to position Burberry for superior growth when the global economy recovers," chief executive Angela Ahrendts told analysts.

Luxury goods firms have been hard hit by the crisis. Burberry would not say if the recovery was firmly underway but said it was outperforming rivals and was confident its trench coats and handbags, as well as leather goods, scarves and snoods would sell well this Christmas. Its first kid's store: Following the launch of the first dedicated children swear store in Hong Kong, and later across the rest of the globe, the British brand has opened its first children swear store in the UK. The 921 square foot store is situated on Westbourne Grove in Notting Hill, London. The flagship showcases a full range of the Children swear collection, including collections for infants, boys and girls as well as a full assortment of children's shoes and accessories.

The store reflects the new Burberry store design concept developed by Creative Director, Christopher Bailey. Children swear collections are directly inspired by styles in the Burberry men's and women's ready-to-wear collections and reference the signature trench coat, trademark check, British heritage, and fabric innovation. As part of its retail-led growth strategy, Burberry opened its first dedicated children swear store in Hong Kong in March 2008, followed by two children swear stores in the US in New York and California in November 2008 and further children swear stores in Turkey, Dubai and Kuwait in January, February and March respectively.

Burberry kids in Istanbul: British fashion house Burberry announced it opened the doors of its first children swear store in Turkey. The 180 square meter store, located in Istanbul, showcases a full range from the children collection, including collections for boys, girls, infants and new burns as well as children's shoes and accessories. Children collections are directly inspired by styles in the Burberry men's and women's ready-to-wear collections and reference the signature trench coat, trademark check, British heritage and technical sport. There are three other existing stores in Istanbul. Burberry, which is headquartered in London and listed on the London Stock Exchange, was founded in 1856.
