Cable Knit Handbag - How To Care For It

By Ram Collins

A knitted fabric is called a cable knit. The main purpose of it being knitted is to create a top or any other designs. Since it is knitted, it can have different kinds of results. You can create a larger knit or you can do something that can produce a magnificent style. But sometimes, a cable knit is hard to utilize.

The difficulty is in keeping the cable knits free from runs and tangles. Your cable knit handbag may have been knitted using a machine instead of the traditional knitting needles but this does not take anything away from the beauty of a cable knit handbag.

How to Prevent Runs

Cable knits are prone to runs due to the knitting getting caught on everyday objects it come sin contact with. Cable knit handbags are no different from other cable knit products and apparel. These also have a tendency to unwind or get caught on sharp objects. Once your cable knit is caught, most likely, the knitting either becomes undone (when it has been cut) or the knitting bunches up due to pulling.

There are many ways of preventing your cable knit handbag from getting ruined. One thing is to be extra careful when using it especially when you pass trough tight spaces or put it where it may encounter sharp objects. Since we can not be extra careful all the time, and the propensity of a cable knit handbag of getting a run is high, you must also learn what to do when this happens.

In cases where the knitting bunches up because it has been pulled, you can try to carefully pull it back to its original form. This is sort of tricky because a knot may have already formed when it was pulled and this knot may be difficult to untangle. You can use knitting needles or any sharp object to try and pull the knot out but be careful.

But sometimes, despite all your efforts in untangling the knot, it still cannot be fixed. This is where you can tie a new knot at the knitting's end. Afterward, cut the knot to finally fix it. But you must always remember that your handbag would already look different. To prevent future accidents, learn to be more careful on your handbag.

If you're not confident in fixing this problem, the only option left is to have someone fix it for you. Employees in stores that can fix this problem would be a great help. They can resolve your problem without causing other damages.
